Suitcase carry

Train trunk control and gait with one load while staying tall and level.

Form cues

  • Stand tall with the weight at one side.
  • Keep shoulders level as you walk.
  • Use slow, quiet steps.

Common mistakes

  • Leaning toward or away from the weight.
  • Shrugging the loaded shoulder.
  • Walking too fast to control posture.

Intermediate adjustment

Regression: reduce the load, distance, or hold two light weights. Progression: add distance or carry a moderately heavier dumbbell without leaning.
