Lesson 02 · Intermediate

Romanian deadlift

Train a strong hip hinge with hamstring tension and a long, calm spine.

Form cues

  • Soften knees and send hips back.
  • Keep the weights close to the legs.
  • Stand by driving hips through, not leaning back.

Common mistakes

  • Turning the hinge into a squat.
  • Losing tension at the bottom.
  • Pulling shoulders toward the ears.

Intermediate adjustment

Regression: elevate the weights or use a dowel for feedback. Progression: add load gradually or use a staggered stance.
